Costa Farms Subscription Box Clean Air Collection

I subscribed to this plant service in November of 2022 as a holiday gift for my wife. Overall we’ve had a positive experience. Each month brought us beautiful plants. The plants have always arrived alive and well. As I am sure my wife will agree (if she reads this), she isn’t exactly known for having a “green thumb”, so I loved the idea of having fresh plants delivered to decorate the house.

The packaging has been consistently excellent, ensuring the plants arrive in great shape. I appreciate the effort to provide information about the plants, although some boxes lacked detailed instructions and plant identification. We’ve managed by using a plant app, but clearer instructions would be a valuable addition.

The quality of the plants has been very high. We have lost a few plants, but this was on us, not Costa as the plants always arrived healthy. I believe the issue was that we didn’t replant quickly enough. This is where more detailed instructions would have been helpful.

8.8Expert Score
Lovely Addition for Every Room

As per some of my other reviews, my overall experience has been great, but I have included feedback from a score of other reviews I have read and also included some of the pros and cons from other’s experiences.

Pros
  • Quality Plants
  • Informative Packaging
  • Customer Service
  • Variety
  • Surprise Element
  • Good Packaging
  • Ability to Skip Orders
Cons
  • Lack of Instructions
  • Plant Identification
  • Limited Light Options
  • Space Management
  • Risk in Shipping

One thing I would have appreciated that I have experienced with other subscription boxes is to be able more flexibility in choosing the light requirements of plants and perhaps have the opportunity to see what plants are getting shipped in advance. There has usually been a mix of succulents and some larger plants, but I do believe we received a few redundant plants over the course of the year. We also have some pretty drastic differences in light conditions throughout the house.

Positives from other reviews:
Reading other reviews I found that others had similar experience with the people receiving quality plants. Although my experience with information has been inconsistent others have expressed the opposite. I’ve never had to use the customer services, but other subscribers have had really positive experiences, especially getting replacement plants when they arrive dead. Another nice option, that I didn’t know was available is the ability to skip months.

Cons from other reviews:
As I mentioned from my experience, others also stated that instructions and plant identification information was always provided. Others also expressed concerns of the risks of receiving unhealthy plants due to extreme weather (living in colder or hot climates) or when delays happen. Several people mentioned space management (running out of room).

In summary our experience with Costa’s plant subscription was positive and the only reason we cancelled, for now, is we ran out of room. Hopefully you enjoy some of the photos above as we enjoy how much the plants add to spaces throughout our home.

  1. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The words in your post seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something
to do with internet browser compatibility but I figured
I’d post to let you know. The style and design look great though!
Hope you get the problem solved soon. Kudos
